Artist Bio

Therese Melden (ThereseMeldenArt@gmail.com) is a realist painter who resides in Manchester. She has enjoyed making art since childhood but only began classes when her children were grown. She has been very fortunate to learn from talented and encouraging teachers and peers. All media interest Therese, from collage to oil and, currently, pastel.

Therese’s work has been exhibited locally at the Beverly Farms Library, the former Essen Café in Manchester and, most recently, the Centennial Gallery in Peabody.

She loves dancing, traveling and making art. Her work is joyful as well as humorous. Whether painting a couple swing dancing, sculpting with found treasures or collaging love letters, her inspiration comes from the places she visits and the people she adores. Color is the initial attraction; shape and movement are the flirtation. She falls in love with the painting, the dance, the vista. When a painting is completed, she often finds it difficult to “break up” and put a price on it.

The world is filled with art and Therese is grateful to have found her place in it.
